GC Honey of the Month, September 2012: Amber Heard

on Thursday, September 13, 2012

It's the end of summer but things just keep on getting hotter.  This month's gorgeous GC Honey is the amazing, the beautiful, the talented Amber Heard.  You probably haven't made the connection but this girl has been making movies for 8 years, her first role was as Maria role was in Friday Night Lights (2004).
She stealthy acted in a couple of movies.  You probably didn't notice her until she played the role of Seth Rogan's high school girlfriend in  Pineapple Express (2008).  You also probably didn't know that she was in Zombieland, playing "406", the hot girl that lives in room 406...that tries to eat the creator of Facebook after she become a zombie.  Now a days she stars in the show The Rum Diary's with Johnny Depp and The Playboy Club.
An all American girl from the south, Amber Laura Heard blessed this Earth with her presence on April 22, 1986 (26) in Austin, Texas. Mmmm got to love those southern girls. She dropped out of high school at the age of 17 and moved to New York to model.  She didn't like the culture of the modeling industry so she moved to Los Angeles to become an actress.  Standing at 5 feet, 8 inches; 33B-24-33;  bluish greenish eyes complimented by her blonde hear, she is drop dead gorgeous.   Oh and the best part about Amber is that she is bi-sexual!  In recent news, it's been reported that she broke up with Vanessa Paradis (39).  She's been spotted with Johnny Depp and it seems like they're dating.  Looks like dreams do come true for ol' John Boy.  He's 49 and she 26 but it's Hollywood so anything goes.
She's been bomb sauce ever since her role in Pineapple Express (2008), ranking in both FHM's 100 Sexiest Women of 2008 and Maxim's Hot 100 Women 2008. Check out the chart below, provided by wikipedia for more details and ranks.

Breaking Bad: Season 5...Part 1

on Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Amazing.  Absolutely amazing.  The first half of the final season of Breaking Bad concluded last week, leaving us with a huge cliff hanger.   The final scene shows the inevitable, as detective Hank Schrader comes to realize that W.W. may in fact stand for Walter White.  The discovery couldn't come at the worst time.  Walt claims that he is finally out of the game after making an unknown amount of millions and the children move back into their house after 3 months.  All the loose ends that Gus and Mike Ehrmantraut had, have been disposed of, leaving Walt seemingly untouchable.  Until Hank finds the poem book that shouldn't have been held on to.  So what facts can we draw from this season that could help us predict what will happen in the final?

Here's what we know.  We know that Hank has quality proof that Walt could be Heisenberg, the meth king pin that he's been looking for since the beginning of the series.  We know that Hank is getting tired or worn out from his job, as he ventilates to Walt, "I'm getting tired of chasing monsters."  We know that Walt has finally reached king pin status, controlling every aspect of his meth operations as well as calling multiple hits (10) on the informants left over by Gus.  We know that Walt can and will kill anybody that will stop him from assuming the Meth God status.  Keep in mind SOMEONE is going to eat that poisonous pill that Walt hides in his wall socket, I'm not sure who's going to get it but someone will.  Finally, the most vital piece of information that was given to us this season was the clip of Walt's 52 birthday.  Let's recap that scene.  Walt enters a diner, he gets his breakfast and breaks up the bacon on his plate to form the number 52 symmetrically, as he always does on his birthday.  A man comes into the diner and B lines it to the bathroom, Walt meets him in their to make an exchange.  Walt receives a set of keys that opens up a car in the same lot as his.  He opens the trunk and there is a bag.
So what's going to happen next season? Here are a few scenarios that I've played out in my head.  Walt, blinded by ambition will fall, just as Emperor Julius casear did while he was king of the Roman Empire.  This means that he lied to Skylar, obviously and continues to dominate the meth game unaware that Hank is finally on to him.  Walt ultimately goes on the run which leads him to the diner which eventually leads him to mystery car.  There is also a possibility that Walt hires a hit on Hank too, but well get to that later.  Would it be possible for Walt to move to Czech Republic to continue his meth operations? Sure, why not? But I doubt that would happen because Walt wouldn't leave his family.  Now I know this is reaching for it but here is what I think is going to happen.
When everything seems to be going good is when shit hits the fan.  Enter Jesse.  Walt has always used Jesse in an incredibly manipulative way, sort of how Tom Sawyer tricks kids into white washing the fence for him but on a higher scale.  He is a puppet master.  Having that said, here is how it'll play out. Hank will come to the realization that Walt is in fact Heisenberg, but he'll also remember who payed for all of his surgeries after he got shot; plus he's family.  So rather than pursing Walt secretly, he confronts him.  Asks him everything and tells Walt to give himself up.  However Walt is a combination of Harry Houdini and Scarface, so he'll offer the unsuspecting Jesse up instead of himself.  Remember, Jesse is "out" and Walt really has no purpose for him, except to play the role as a scape goat.  Don't forget about the $5 million dollars cash at his house that Walt dropped off, which could contribute to his suspiciousness.  So Walt gives up Jesse but Hank is so upset by the whole situation that he tells Walt to leave town or else.  Hence, the 52 year old birthday scene.
There is also the possibility that Walt hires a hit on Hank.  If this were to happen however, Skylar would be suspicious, as usual.  Since she already assumes every murder that goes down is Walt's doing, she'll make the connection on what happened and freak out.  An irreversible mistake that could never be forgiven, so Walt leaves.  Hence, the 52 year old birthday scene.
I don't know what is going to happen but I know that on Walt's 52 birthday, he is on the move, he is alone, and he is moving under the radar.  I gave my best guess on what COULD happen next season given the information from the last but who really knows?  What do you think will happen and how will the writers of one of the best dramas end their series?

Kanye West - Clique

on Saturday, September 8, 2012

Kanye West finally released his single Clique off of his upcoming album "Cruel Summers" dropping September 18, 2012.  This is the third single that he's released this year, New God Flow was the first and Mercy was the second.  "Cruel Summers" will be his seventh album but first under the G.O.O.D. Music label.  Clique is an amazing track featuring Big Sean and Jay-Z, so you know it's a banger.  Damn I love this GOOD music.

John Andrews - Late Nights and Fashion

on Thursday, September 6, 2012

I've been anticipating the release of John Andrews' mixtape Late Nights and Fashion for a while now, ever since I got a taste of his single On For The Night.  The wait was worth it!  If you haven't heard his style, it's something like G.O.O.D. Music (Common, Mos Def, and Big Sean signed to the label) meets Y.M.C.M.B (Drake), meets M.M.G. (Meek Mills and Wale).  If I were to sum it up in a few words or a slogan it would be "Feel Good Music" simply because it puts you in a good mood.  In other words, it's uplifting.
I think the voice of the artist plays a huge part in the success, differentiation, and appeal to their audience.  Sort of how Lil Wayne, Drake, Tyga, and Big Sean have extremely distinctive and unique voices.  Having that said, John Andrew's has one that is different, smooth, and comes with some attitude, though he sounds young.  My favorite hip-hop/rap songs have lyrics over a classic piano, such as Jay-Z's Empire State of Mind or Kanye's Heard Em Say.  The beats off of Late Nights and Fashion are awesome.  I actually like each one but then again, most mixtapes have awesome beats.  But even if there is a good beat, a song can still be bad.  Lil Wayne released his mixtape Dedication 4 recently which features Kanye West's Mercy.  The sample has Nicki Minaj, who absolutely destroys the beat.  I didn't think a beat could be so amazing and then single handedly ruined by someone.  To continue, the lyrics off of Late Nights and Fashion are meaningful and hold real.  I know John Andrews personally and the story that he tells through his music is legit.  He doesn't over extend himself, nor does he exaggerate about where he comes from or what he has and dreams of.  The realness and emotion expressed in it all is a nice change of pace from what I usually hear which is great and I love it.
Overall, Late Nights and Fashion is a great listen; especially for a debute mixtape.  He could definitely improve but when someone has "it" you could tell right off the bat and I truly believe he does.  I can't wait for him to come out with another track but till then I'll enjoy Late Nights and Fashion to the fullest.  Check out, download, or stream Late Nights and Fashion below.  Congrats John Andrews and best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

Griz - Better Than I've Ever Been MV

Gotta love this music video.  I'm one of those people that love the combination and co existence between the city and nature, especially when it comes to art.  The Better Than I've Ever Been music video takes us on a journey with a girl that has flashes of nature while she wanders around the city.  It's almost like nature is calling her name and she needs to get back,  she sees remnants of what used to be there before the city was there and her natural instincts are calling her back, to be liberated.  I'm going to go to the beach and listen to this album again and get in touch with my hippy self.
